Virginian-Pilot July 23, 1903
Mr. Thomas Fitchett, a well-known and highly respected citizen, died at his 
residence, No. 62 Clay street, at 2:45 p.m. yesterday after an illness of several 
weeks, aged 57 years. The deceased had been in the employ of the Old Dominion 
Steamship company for many years. He was a member of Friendship Conclave, No. 2, 
Heptasophs, or S.W.M.; Washington Lodge No. 2, I.O.O.F., and Wyandotte Tribe, No. 
42, I.O.R.M. His funeral will take place from the residence Friday afternoon at 4 
o'clock.
