Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald who died at her residence at 2332 
Barre street, Norfolk, recently were held at Mt. Olive Baptist Chrch.  The 
Rev. H. T. Myers, pastor, officiated.

A native of Blue Ridge VA, Mrs. Fitzgerald was reared in Blackstone VA.  She 
came to Norfolk later and her first marriage was to Robert Lee Artis.  She 
was the widow of the late James R. Fitzgerald who died seven years ago.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she joined 
under the pastorate of the Rev. Mr. Hicks.  She was an active member in the 
church as long as her health would permit.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Mamie A. Gray;  one step-daughter, 
Mrs. Fannie Stokes, Blackstone, VA;  one stepson, Johnnie Fitzgerald;  four 
grandchildren, Waverly Johnson Gray, James Edward Gray, Eleston Fitzgerald, 
and John Fitzgerald Jr, New York;  six nieces, seven nephews and other 
relatives.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Morning Glory Funeral Home in charge of 
arrangements.
