Funeral services for Mrs. Hattie Fitzgerald were held Wednesday at Shiloh
Baptist Church. The Rev. W. L. Hamilton officiated and burial was in Calvary
Cemetery.

Mrs. Fitzgerald died last Sunday at her home after an illness. She was a native
of Scotland Neck, NC, but had lived in Norfolk for 20 years.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Turner Smith, Scotland Neck: three
sons, Carl E., Alvin and Wayne Fitzgerald; three daughters, Ethel Z., Diane and
Patricia Fitzgerald; three sisters, Mrs. Selma Clark and Mrs. Ruth Thomas of New
York, NY; and Mrs. Alice Piece of Norfolk, and five brothers, Charlie, Walter
and Joseph P. Smith of New York NY, Turner and Dennie Smith, both of Scotland Neck.
