NORFOLK — Retired Navy Capt. Justin Stephen Fitzgerald, 65, of 1431 Magnolia Ave., 
died Wednesday in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Brooklyn, he lived here 16 years. He was the husband of Mrs. Mary 
Curley Fitzgerald and a son of Judge John J. and Mrs. Kathleen Ferris Fitzgerald.
He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a 1923 graduate of 
the Naval Academy.
Besides his widow, survivors include three brothers, John Fitzgerald of West 
Hempstead, N.Y., Paul Fitzgerald of Brooklyn, and Gerard Fitzgerald of Los 
Angeles; and two sisters, Mrs. Jeremiah O’Brien and Miss Kathleen Fitzgerald of 
Brooklyn.
The body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Blessed 
Sacrament Chapel on Colley Avenue for a funeral service Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family has requested that flowers be omitted. 
The Office of the Dead will be recited in the funeral apartments tonight at 7:30.
