Fitzpatrick, a native of Norfolk, was the husband of Mrs. Christine Norman Fitzpatrick. He was superintendent of St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery for 30 years and also retired from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments in Norfolk as night manager after 12 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Patricia F. Evich of Frederick, Md., and Mrs. Marilyn F. Pappas of Norfolk; four sons, Joseph John Fitzpatrick and William G. Fitzpatrick of Norfolk, Farrell A. Fitzpatrick of Virginia Beach, and James V. Fitzpatrick of Alexandria; two sisters, Sister Mary Regis, O.S.B., of Baltimore, and Mrs. Margaret F. Hebert of Norfolk; two brothers, George V. Fitzpatrick and James Bernard Fitzpatrick of Norfolk; and nine grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7 in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.
