All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Suzy Ward Fleming wardflemin@aol.com July 24, 2017, 11:19 pm Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday March 31, 1952 Robert Lee Flaherty, 50, husband of Geneva Ross Flaherty and son of the late John R. and Martha Ames Flaherty, died at a Portsmouth hospital yesterday at 1:55 p.m. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Miss Patricia Ann Flaherty; two sons, Charles David Hadley, of Norfolk, and Robert Lee Flaherty, Jr., USAF; a sister, Mrs. J. M Watson, of Bellevue, Ohio; a half- sister Mrs. Elsie Harrigson, of Louisville, Ky.; a half-brother, Timothy Flaherty, of Baltimore; a grandson, Charles D. Hadley, Jr., and several step-sisters. Mr. Flaherty was a native of LaGrange, Ky., and had been a resident of Norfolk for 35 years, residing at 1123 Center Avenue. He was a veteran of World Wars I and II. Until his retirement in 1942 he had been in the Navy for 32 years. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Wednesday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
