Virginian-Pilot May 27, 1966
NORFOLK — Mrs. Blanche Towell Fleming, 71, the widow of Orville I. Fleming Jr. 
and a daughter of Richard Finch and Mrs. Mary Hudgins Brown, died in her home at 
7611 Lankford Ave. Wednesday.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William E. Reed of Norfolk; four sons, John 
R. Towell and Ernest Michael Towell of Richmond, James 0. Towell of Gloucester, 
and Joseph P. Towell of Norfolk; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Helen Deas, of New 
York, Mrs. Albert K. Waymon of Virginia Beach, and Mrs. Charles E. Murphy of 
Norfolk; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 1 
p.m. by the Rev. Wallace A. Rogers of Norview Presbyterian Church. Burial will 
be in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Mrs. J. P. Towell of 
5749 Azalea Garden Road.
