Fletcher, WWI Officer BALTIMORE - Ralph K. Fletcher, 85, retired Army major and a veteran of service in the Philippine Islands and Siberia during World War I, died Sunday in a hospital. A native of Deming, N.M., he lived in Hampton during Army service. He retired from the Army in 1930 and then joined the Federal Land Bank, Baltimore. In 1955, he retired from the Maryland Department of Motor Vehicles. He was a Roman Catholic and member of Sons of the American Revolution, and the Huguenot Society. He was a son of Army Capt. and Mrs. E.L. Fletcher. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Eva Bowden, formerly of Norfolk; and a daughter, Ellen B. Fletcher of Baltimore. A funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. in Jenkins Funeral Establishment.
