Virginian-Pilot December 11, 1933
Mrs. Carrie A. Flora, aged 69, died at the family residence, 1509 Vincent avenue, 
yesterday morning at 1:45 o'clock. She was the widow of George L. Flora and the 
daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Theodosia McHorney. Surviving Mrs. Flora are 
three sons, Haywood Doxey, of California, and George C. and Winifred S. Flora; 
three daughters, Mrs. M. Capps, Mrs. R. M. Griffin and Mrs. L. R. Wise, of 
Indiana; one sister, Mrs. Amanda Gregory; two brothers, Samuel and Thomas 
McHorney, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The body was taken from the Gregory Funeral Home yesterday to the residence, where 
funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. J. 
T. Bosman. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
