Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch November 2, 1908
William L. Flowers, a well-known and esteemed citizen of South Norfolk, died early 
yesterday morning at his home, corner of Liberty and Nineteenth streets. The 
deceased was born in Maryland, but had been living in this section for some time. 
He was 37 years of age and is survived by a widow. He was a member of Tidewater 
Council 30, Jr. O.U.A.M.
The funeral took place this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence and was 
conducted by the Rev. J. W. Harrell, of Portsmouth. A delegation from the above-
named council attended the funeral in a body. The interment was in Elmwood 
cemetery, Norfolk.
