J. FLOWERS, 59, OPERATOR OF NEWSSTAND NORFOLK - Michael Joseph Flowers Sr., 59, newsstand operator and assistant manager of Norfolk Elks Club died Monday morning in his home, 515 W. 29th St. Flowers, a son of the late Joseph and Mrs. Catherine Delmastro Flowers, was a native of St. Katherine, Italy, and lived in Norfolk since childhood. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Norfolk Elks Lodge 38 and the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Webster Flowers, and two sons, Michael J. Flowers Jr. and Maury T. Flowers, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Whiting and Mrs. Virginia Cinnamo, both of Coronado, Calif.; and a brother, Ned Flowers of Lynchburg. The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral; Apartments Wednesday at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
