The deceased was born in the town of Golden, County of Tipperary, Ireland, but had been a resident of Norfolk for quite a half century, where he was widely known and universally esteemed. During his residence in this city he was for a number of years engaged in the transfer business. He leaves three children, Mrs. Daniel Fogarty of New York, Mrs. W.. Scultatus and John Fogarty of Norfolk. The funeral will be held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which he was a member, at 9:30 o'clock this morning. *************************************************************************** The funeral of the late Richard Fogarty was held from St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which the deceased was a member, at 9:30 o'clock yesterday morning and was numerously attended. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father Edward J. Walsh, during which Father Doherty was seated in the sanctuary. Father Walsh paid a beautiful tribute to the exemplary life of the deceased, making special reference to his patience and Christian fortitude during his very protracted illness. Salutaris" was sung by Charles Hudgins and Mrs. James Hughes rendered very sweetly, "Face to Face." There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: Patrick Holden, James McDonnell, M. T. Cooke, Michael Cashin, Sr., W. M. Hannan, John F. Lawler, John A. Butt and James T. Holland.
