                             DEATH OF MRS. FOILES
Mrs. Maria Foiles died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.W. Hozier, 711 Sixth 
Street, yesterday at 11:20 o'clock, after an illness of several months.  
The deceased was born in Norfolk County, near Portsmouth, February 14, 1823, 
where she was reared, and came to Berkley about six years ago, since which time 
she lived with her daughter. 
She was 82 years of age and was the widow of Joseph Foiles, who preceded her to 
the grave about thirty-seven years ago.
In addition to a host of friends she leaves three daughters, and two sons.  They 
are: Mrs. Josephine Oakley, Mrs. L.W. Hozier, Mrs. F.A. Clark and Messrs. 
William and A.S. Foiles.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist church, which she loved and often 
lamented the fact of her inability to attend.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, 
Rev. W.H. Edwards, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church, officiating.  The interment 
will be in Magnolia Cemtery.

The funeral of the late Mrs. Mariah Foiles, who died at the home of her 
daughter, Mrs. L.W Hozier, 711 Sixth street, took place yesterday afternoon at 3 
o'clock from the above residence.  Rev. W.H. Edwards, pastor of Memorial M.E. 
Church, officiated and the interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.  The attendance 
was very large.
