Fontaine of the 6500 block of Pugh St., passed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, Dec. 5, 1998, at her residence. She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of the late Elizabeth Deans. She was the widow of Robert E. Fontaine Sr. She was a member of the Basilica of Saint Mary's of the Immaculate Conception and its Women's Club. Along with her husband, Mrs. Fontaine was co-owner of Bob's Paradise Lounge, formerly located on Chapel Street in Norfolk. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Robert R. "Bob" Fontaine Jr. and Jeffrey R. "Ricky" Fontaine; a sister, Corrine Hawkins; a brother, Stanford Ware; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Christ the King Catholic Church, 1803 Columbia Ave. at Tidewater Drive by Monsignor Walter C. Barrett. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum at Saint Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Riddick Funeral Service. There will be a Christian Wake at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home where the family will receive friends after the service.
