Mr. Forbes, a Norfolk native, had retired from the Keebler Co. after more than 30 years. He was a member of Ghent United Methodist Church and Grocery Manufacturers Representatives Association and was vice president of the United Ostomy Association. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Sarah Steinfield Forbes; a daughter, Sarah E. Gresham of Norfolk; a son, 0. Ellis Forbes Jr. of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ghent United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert C. Hastings. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may join the family at 1340 Cornwall Place. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to the church's endowment fund.
