Norfolk Virginian October 7, 1875
BURIAL OF WM. FORBES - The remains of Mr. Wm. Forbes, who died on Tuesday night in 
this city, were buried yesterday afternoon. Mr. Forbes was from Richmond, Va. and, 
just before the war began, he was a prominent building contractor in that city and 
well off in worldly goods. When he died, he was in abject poverty and an object of 
charity to his relatives. He was kind and generous to a fault and had many friends 
in Richmond.
