Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 20, 1921

Mrs. Alice Forbes, widow of J.M. Forbes, died last night at 9:40 o'clock at the 
residence of her son-in-law, H.A. Mench, 517 Pennsylvania Avenue, Colonial 
Place.  Notice of the funeral will be given later.

The funeral of Mrs. Alice Whitehead Forbes, widow of J.M. Forbes, took place 
yesterday afternoon at the residence, 517 Pennsylvania Avenue, and was conducted 
by Rev. G.E. Booker, D.D., of Park Place Methodist Church.  The funeral was 
largely attended and there were many beautiful floral offerings.  Burial was in 
Elmwood Cemetery, the pallbearers being T.S. Land, E.W. Whitehead, Dr. R.E. 
Whitehead, N.L. Ferrett, R.L. Croft and F.H. Croft.
