Virginian Pilot October 22, 1974

Mrs. Mattie Lee Chapman Forbes, 86, formerly of the Princess Anne Apartments, 
died in a Virginia Beach hospital Monday night.
She was a native of Norfolk and the widow of Charles H. Forbes.  She was a 
member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Charles H. Forbes, Jr. of Virginia Beach; a sister, 
Mrs. Ruby E. Wescott of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother, Roy Chapman of Baltimore; 
five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive. Memorial 
donations may be sent to Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.  The family will be at the 
son's home, 110 45th St., Virginia Beach.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral 
Home, Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. Paul Mims.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
