George W. Ford Jr., 80, of the 3600 block of Trant Ave., died March 20, 2001, in 
Norfolk.
Mr. Ford retired as a supervisor from Flowers Bakery after 20 years of service. 
He was also a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Ford was 
born in Atlanta, Ga., and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in 
Norfolk.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene B. Ford of Norfolk; and three daughters, 
Anita Jacobs of Virginia Beach, Mary Vick of Charleston, S.C., and Alice McKown 
of Fort Smith, Ark. He also has a sister, Ethel Uppdegrove of Texas; a brother, 
Albert H. Ford of Maryland; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturday in St. Peter's Episcopal 
Church by the Rev. John M. Eidam. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. H.D. 
Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
