NORFOLK - Venus N. Foreman , 90, died May 11, 2009. She was born in Norfolk 
to the late Gury and Mary Lambert. 

At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ, was loving and kind to many, and 
was a longtime member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her 
husband, Woodrow Foreman ; brother, Lawrence Lambert; and sister, Ophelia 
Keeling. 

Survivors are her daughter, Linda G. King (Alphonso Sr.); and son, Woodrow 
E. Foreman Jr. (Paula); sisters, Fannie Stancil and Mary Artis; brothers, 
Carl, Hubert and Milton Lambert; two grandsons, Alphonso and Anthony King 
(Shakira); two great-grandchildren, Elias and Kalia King; and a host of 
other relatives and friends. 

She graduated from the Ballentine Beautician School, worked for Norfolk 
Public Schools and a private academy. 

Viewing will be at Hale Funeral Home, 2100 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Monday 
from noon to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends and visitors at a 
viewing from 4 to 6 p.m. The family will also assemble at the home of her 
son at 10 a.m. Tuesday for the funeral procession. The funeral will be held 
at noon Tuesday in Shiloh Baptist Church, 745 Park Ave., Norfolk, the Rev. 
Keith Jones officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Norfolk.
