It is useless to pen any eulogium upon the character of the deceased sister, whose unselfish life has been for years devoted to the alleviation of human suffering, for she was one of a large class whose lives are spent in the same holy work, and we only intend to speak of her obsequies, which took place from St. Mary’s Church at 10 o’clock yesterday morning. The Rev. Father O’Keefe, pastor of the church, celebrated the requiem Mass, assisted by Fathers Cutler and Hagan and several of the theological students of the college, after which he delivered a beautiful and appropriate discourse, in which he dwelt upon the blameless life and beautiful character of the deceased. The services were largely attended, the St. Patrick's Societies of Norfolk and Portsmouth and the St. Joseph Society of this city, being out in full force. The remains were afterwards consigned to the grave in the Catholic cemetery, to await the certainty of a blissful resurrection. Additional Comments: Her tombstone says her date of death was March 28, 1872, but, from her obituary, she died on March 18, 1872.
