The Virginian Pilot Friday October 1, 1971
Mrs. Mary Ella Jones Forrest, 70, of 865 Washington Drive, Homemont, Great 
Bridge, died Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in a Norfolk hospital after an illness of 
five years.
She was a lifelong resident of South Norfolk.
She was the widow of John Lemuel Forrest and a daughter of Elisha Harrell 
and Mrs. Betty Burgess Jones. 
She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church.
She is survived by two granddaughters, Mrs. Lilly Neurita Hughes of South 
Norfolk and Mrs. Wanda M. Smith of Great Bridge; a grandson, Winnard F. 
Holloman of Great Bridge; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday at 4 p.m. in Graham Funeral Home, 
South Norfolk, by the Rev. Frank Hughes Jr. of South Norfolk Baptist Church 
and the Rev. Soney J. Pierce Jr. of Arbor Grove Baptist Church.  Burial will 
be in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
