A native of Craven County, N.C., he was a son of John Lemuel and Mrs. Dora Buck Forrest and the husband of Mrs. Ella Jones Forrest. He was a retired boilermaker of Chesapeake & Ohio Railway. He lived in South Norfolk 50 years. Besides his wife, he is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Richard Long of Logan, W.Va.; Mrs. C.D. Sykes and Mrs. C.B. Hatchett of Rocky Mount, N.C.; Mrs. Mable Hamilton of Raleigh and Mrs. Ralph Chalfont; three stepsisters, Mrs. Henry Gray of Kentucky, Mrs. Jesse Griffin of Enfield, N.C. and Mrs. Mamie Johnson of Rocky Mount; a stepbrother, O.J. Forrest of South Norfolk; and three grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted in Graham Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
