Portsmouth - James H. Forrest, of 103 Tazewell Street, died Saturday, 
November 29 in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Virginia 
Forrest.  He retired from Naval Supply Center, after 33 years.  He was a 
member of New Bethel Baptist Church, and also served as an Army Veteran of 
World War II and was a Disabled American Veteran.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Vascella Williams of Norfolk, VA, Mrs. 
Annette Everett of Portsmouth, VA;  three sons, James M. Forrest, Herbert D. 
Forrest, both of Portsmouth, VA;  E.2. Peter W. Forrest of Fort Campbell KY;  
three sisters, Mrs. Alvania Slade of Baltimore MD, Mrs. Vivian Lacy of 
Robinsonville NC;  and Mrs. Laverne Braswell of Hampton VA;  two brothers, 
William Forrest of Chesapeake VA, George Forrest of Norfolk VA, eleven 
grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Thursday, December 4 in New Bethel Baptist Church 
by Rev. J. M. Whitaker.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.  Fisher Funeral 
Home had charge.
