A native of Norfolk, VA, he was the husband of the late Mrs. Virginia Forrest. He retired from Naval Supply Center, after 33 years. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, and also served as an Army Veteran of World War II and was a Disabled American Veteran. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Vascella Williams, of Norfolk, VA; Mrs. Annette Everett, of Portsmouth, VA; three sons, James M. Forrest, Herbert D. Forrest, both of Portsmouth VA; E.2 Peter W. Forrest of Fort Campbell KY; three sisters, Mrs. Alvania Slade, of Baltimore MD; Mrs. Vivian Lacy, of Robinsonville, NC; and Mrs. Laverne Braswell, of Hampton, VA; two brothers, William Forrest, of Chesapeake VA, George Forrest of Norfolk VA; eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday, December 4 in New Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. J. M. Whitaker. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home had charge.
