Forrest and a lifelong Norfolk resident, died Thursday in a hospital. He retired in 1974 from Newport News Shipbuilding where he was a supervisor in the supervisor of shipbuilding office. He was a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers. He was a 1935 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was a member of the Larchmont United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Masonic Lodge 34, the Norfolk Consistory, and Scottish Rite Bodies. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hope M. James, Jr., and a don, Edwin Booth Forrest Jr., both of Virginia Beach; and three grandchildren. A funeral will be held Saturday at noon in Elmwood Cemetery by the Rev. William D. Parrish, Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, had charge. Memorial donations may be sent to the Tidewater Heart Fund or Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters.
