Norfolk Journal and Guide, May 24,1930
Samuel G. Foster, who departed this life Saturday, May 10, at his residence, 313 
Lewis Street, was buried from the St. John’s Church on Tuesday, May 13 with the 
pastor, Rev. L. L. Berry officiating.  Mr. Foster suffered a brief illness and 
left mourning his passing, his wife, Mrs. Rosa Foster;  three sisters, Mrs. 
Laura Jones, of New York City, Mr. Fred DeShield and Miss Fannie Foster;  two 
brothers Frank and George;  and a host of other relatives and friends.

Calvary Cemetery, Hale Funeral Home in charge)
