Virginian-Pilot May 28 & 29, 1969
NORFOLK - Allen Lee Foster, 87, of 412 Burleigh Ave., a retired insurance agent, 
died Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. in a nursing home after a long illness.
A native of Mathews County, he lived here 58 years. He was the husband of Mrs. 
Ruth H. Foster and a son of John S. and Mrs. Mary Christine Winder Foster.
He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Besides his widow, surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Ernest F. White and Miss 
Mary E. Foster of Mathews County, Mrs. Stanley W. White of Richmond, and Mrs. 
George E. Maynard of New London, Conn.; and a brother, John Layton Foster of 
Mathews County.
The body was taken to Derry-Twiford Funeral Home.

NORFOLK - A private Funeral service for Allen Lee Foster will be conducted today 
in Derry-Twiford Funeral Home by the Rev. Wendell White. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
