William Lawrence Fowler, 76, of the 1000 block of Charity Drive, a retired 
insurance agent, died July 5, 1990, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Fowler, a native of New Britain, Conn., was a member of St. Gregory the Great 
Catholic Church. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table; Knights of 
Columbus, Fourth Degree; Seniors Golfing Club; Cotillion Club and the Ryan Club.

Survivors include his wife, Elenoir J. Fowler of Virginia Beach; three daughters, 
Ellen A. Moore of Aurora, Colo., Margaret Kurtz of Coatesville, Pa., and Kathleen 
O. Hempel of Oslo, Norway; a son, Terry Fowler of Ramstein Air Base, Germany; two 
stepsons, William Ross of Charlotte, N.C., and James Ross of New Britain; two 
sisters, Rita Bell of New Britain and Marian Kallberg of Plainville, Conn.; and 14 
grandchildren.

A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in St. 
Gregory the Great Catholic Church by the Rev. Chad Ficorilli. Burial will be in 
St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. 
Sunday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road.
