The funeral of Dr. John T. Francis, President of the Norfolk Medical 
Association, and a practicing physician of this city, whose death was announced 
yesterday, took place this afternoon from Christ Episcopal Church, and was 
conducted by the rector, Rev. O.S. Barten, D.D. The obsequies were attended by 
a number of physicians of Norfolk. The interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery. 
The pall-bearers were selected from the Medical Association, the Lee Rifles (of 
which the deceased was a non-commissioned officer), and from among other 
friends. The Rifles were out in citizen dress.
