Franklin, who died Monday, took place at 10 o'clock this morning from the residence of his son-in-law, J. R. Woodson, No. 29 Arlington Place. The deceased was a brave Confederate soldier and followed the flag of the South through the war betweemn the States. He has resided here about ten years. He is survived by seven children--three sons, T. J. Franklin, of Norfolk; and Charles R. Franklin and James E. Franklin, of Lynchburg, and four daughters, Mrs. R. K. Coffin and Mrs. G. A. Phillips, of Richmond, and Mrs. J. R. Woodson and Mrs. J. D. Klepper, of Norfolk. The services were conducted by Rev. S. McG. Shields and the interment was in Elmwood cemetery. There were many beautiful floral offerings. The following were pall-bearers: H. J. Taylor, John Harris, Charles Withrow, F. W. McCourt, N. S. Horton, Frank Lathrop and M. Gallagher.
