Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 2, 1950 

Miss Mary Elizabeth Franklin, 43, daughter of the late Henry L. and Mrs. Maude 
Phields Franklin, died in a Lynchburg hospital Friday at 11 p.m. She is survived 
by two sisters, Mrs. James I. Evans, of Columbus, Ga. and Mrs. Grace Gallop, of 
Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, Leon and Thomas H. Franklin, of Norfolk.
Miss Franklin was a native of Norfolk and had been a resident of Lynchburg for 15 
years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 2 
p.m. by the Rev. W.W. Williford, secretary of the Virginia Transit Company YMCA. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
