Sarah Thompson Franz of the 1400 block of Monterey Ave., a retired legal 
secretary, died Sept. 18, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Franz was a legal secretary for Charles R. Kaufman and Associates for many 
years. A native of Portsmouth, she was the widow of Harry J. Franz and the 
daughter of the late Margaret K. Thompson and William G. Thompson. She was a 
member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk and a former board member of St. 
Mary's Infant Home.

Survivors include a sister, Margaret Thompson of Norfolk; a brother, William G. 
Thompson Jr. of Virginia Beach; and a nephew, David Carter Thompson of Richmond.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church by Father John J. Dorgan. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to DePaul Hospital or St. Mary's Infant Home.
