He was a son of Selonia and Mrs. Elizabeth Freeman and widower of Mrs. Sylvia Freeman. A native of Bertie County, N.C., he lived in Norfolk 78 years and worked at Colonna Shipyard as a boss caulker 47 years. Surviving are four sons, Lonnie Freeman, Walter Freeman, Ollie Freeman and James Freeman of Norfolk. A funeral service will be held in Pretlow's Funeral Home Friday at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. J.C. Diamond, pastor of First Baptist Church, Berkley. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
