Freitas, who died Tuesday evening at his home in Norfolk County, will be held at 3 o'clock this afternoon at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Father John J. Doherty. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Freitas was well known in the county and in Norfolk. He was a native of Portsmouth, but for the past 40 years had lived on the old Ocean View Road, near Twelfth Station, Bay Shore car line. *********************************************************************** FREITAS - At the residence, 12th Station, Bay Shore Road, Norfolk County, Va., Tuesday, June 13, 1916, at 7:10 o'clock a.m., JOSEPH D. FREITAS, aged 60 years. Funeral services at St. Mary's Catholic Church THURSDAY AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Freitas took place yesterday at 3 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.J. Doherty, and was largely attended. A special delegation from the Eagles, of which order he was a member, was present. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, the pallbearers being Dr. J.W. Reed, C.H. Frankenberger, G.M. Compere, J.T. Lambert, O.L. Parkerson, Lawrence Kelly, M. Reggerri and P. Marino. Among the many floral tributes was a pillow from the Eagles; a wreath from Southern Distributing Company, and a pillow from the Lady Maccabees. Mrs. James Hughes sang "Angels Ever Bright and Fair" and Abide With Me.."
