Norfolk Virginian Pilot Sunday July 17, 1949
Louis Joseph Freitas, 63, son of the late Joseph D. and Mrs. Mary Jane Freitas, 
died Saturday at 7:30 a.m. at a local hospital.  Mr. Freitas was a lifelong 
resident of Norfolk, residing at 715 Shirley Avenue at the time of his death.  He 
retired in 1944 after having been employed at the Norfolk Navy Yard and the Ford 
Plant.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Percy Holmes Hill, Jr.; a brother, Joseph D. 
Freitas, of Norfolk and six nieces and seven nephews.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 2 p.m. 
by the Rev. L.R. Black, pastor of Colonial Avenue Methodist Church.  Burial will 
be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
