VIRGINIA BEACH - Thomas Moses Friedman, 79, died June 23, 2005, at his home 
surrounded by his loved ones. Born September 15, 1925, Tommy was a Norfolk 
native, a graduate of Maury High School and a proud Navy veteran of World War 
II.
He was the son of Reatha Friedman and the late Henry Friednan, Tommy Barry and 
wife Linda, favorite son Brian and wife Inger, and favorite son, Bruce and his 
wife Emily and favorite son, Bobby. He is also survived by his brother, Marcus 
Friedman, and sisters Naomi Joynes and Sonia Auxier. Tommy adored his 
grandchildren, Neal and Cole, Sarah, Rachael, Elli and Ethan.
The owner of Birdland Music, Tommy never met a stranger and always had a kind 
word for anyone he met. Bring him a cup of coffee and he was your friend for 
life. Dad lived life his own way.
A graveside service will be conducted at B'Nai Israel Cemetery on Cromwell 
Road. The family will sit Shivah at Barry and Linda's home, 5612 Shenandoah 
Ave, Norfolk. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts, Norfolk Chapel is handling 
arrangements.
