FULFORD, REALTY BROKER 40 YEARS, DIES Helped Promote Use Of Word 'Realtor'; Was 76 Years Old George Franklin Fulford, Norfolk real estate broker for the past 40 years, died at a local hospital yesterday at 5:20 a.m. after a month's illness. He was 76 years old. Active in business until his death, he maintained offices in the Monticello Arcade. Years ago at a convention of the National Association of Real Estate Boards, he was instrumental in promoting the use of the word "realtor" to designate "a real estate broker who is an active member of a local board having membership in the national association." The word has been so used ever since. As one of the promoters of the organization of the Norfolk Real Estate Board, he was active in its work for several years. He took part in State and national real estate gatherings as long as his health permitted. A native of Norfolk County, he was the son of the late W.J. and Mrs. Jane Fulford. He attended Norfolk Academy. He made his home with his wife, Mrs. Dora McFarlane Fulford, at 622 West Princess Anne Road. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Jane Mortensen of Kansas City and a sister, Mrs. E.F. Pullen, of Baltimore. Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
