Norfolk Ledger Dispatch January 1, 1931

Mrs. Bettie Ashby Fulford, aged 64, widow of Bertran Fulford, died last night at 
7:30 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. E.B. Williamson, 1327 Ocean 
Avenue, Ocean View. She was a native of Currituck, N.C. and had made her home in 
this section for 35 years. She is survived by one son, Gideon Fulford, of South 
Norfolk; five daughters, Mrs. S.C. Flora, of Norfolk; Mrs. T.W. Morrisette, Mrs. 
Williamson, Mrs. E.C. Zirkle and Mrs. D.T. Allen, all of Ocean View; two half 
sisters, Mrs. Alfred Holt, of Moyock, N.C. and Mrs. Lena Nolan, of Sligo, N.C., 
14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the South Norfolk Baptist Church. The body was removed to 
the funeral home of Graham & Sykes, 124 East Berkley Avenue. Notice of the 
funeral will be given later.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie Ashby Fulford, who died Wednesday evening in 
the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.B. Williamson, 1327 Ocean Avenue, Ocean View, 
were conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the funeral home of Graham and 
Sykes, 124 East Berkley Avenue. Interment was in Magnolia Cemetery.
