FULGHAM - At his residence, No. 95 Wood street, Saturday, March 7th, at 9 p.m., 
JOSEPH H. FULGHAM, in the 48th year of his age.
Notice of funeral hereafter.

Funeral services over the remains of the late Joseph H. Fulgham, member of the 
firm of Etheridge, Fulgham & Co., prominent commission merchants of this city, 
took place yesterday at 4 o'clock from his family residence, No. 95 Wood street, 
the obsequies being conducted by the Kev. J. M. G. Scott, of the Freemason 
street Baptist Church, assisted by * Dr. R. N. Sledd and Rev. Dr. Wm. E. Evans. 
The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: D. C. Lassiter, J. G. Womble, E. 
M. Baum, Washington Taylor, L. Royster, M. Winston, B. G. Pollard and James R. 
Wright.
The deceased was forty-eight years old and a native of Nansemond county. He has, 
however, resided in Norfolk twenty-four years, during that time endearing 
himself to all his acquaintances. A wife and seven children survive him.
The deceased served gallantly in the lines of the Confederacy. He was a member 
of the following orders and societies: Pickett-Buchanan Camp, Confederate 
Veterans; Norfolk Lodge No. 1, A.F. and A.M., and a consistent member of the 
Freemason Street Baptist Church. The remains were interred in Elmwood Cemetery 
and were attended by the Masonic Order and Pickett-Buchanan Camp.
The Cotton Exchange was closed throughout the day, Mr. Fulgham being a prominent 
member of this body, and a delegation of the members attended the funeral.
