She was the relict of the late James E. Fuller who preceded her to the Great Beyond seventeen years ago. Mrs. Fuller was born in Mathews County, VA, came to Norfolk at the age of 12 years, united herself with the Bank St. Baptist Church and for 67 years has led a happy consistent and useful life in the church and in the community. During the years of her young womanhood she was active in the work of relief to the G. A. R. besides the auxiliaries to her own and other churches. Later on she, with others, organized the Y. M. C. A. of this city. Her late years found her no less occupied with kindred organizations and while her body weakened her mental faculties seemed keener and her interest broadened as the years passed by. Mrs. Fuller enjoyed the companionship of young and old alike. Her unusual sympathy with young folk and their problems drew them to her for counsel and cheer and made her welcome in their midst. Her warm and lasting friendships were prized by the old who felt she was a consistent and humble worker for good. Sunday morning she attended both Sunday school and church and happily greeted dozens of friends. She returned home, laid away her clothing and lay down for a rest. A few moments later she fell asleep in the presence of her loved ones. The dead are like the stars, by the day, withdrawn from mortal eye but not extinct, they hold their way in glory through the sky, spirits from bondage thus set free vanish amid immensity. Where human thought like human sight fails to pursue their trackless flight.
