FURLONG, JR., DIED LAST NIGHT Survived His Father One Week and a Few Hours James P. Furlong Jr., aged 24 years, son of the late James P. Furlong, died last night at the family residence, after a brief illness. Young Mr. Furlong was desperately ill a week ago when his father was suddenly stricken and died within a few days. He survived his father but a few hours more than one week. The family is prostrated by the double bereavement. Mr. Furlong is survived by his mother, Mrs. Janie A. Furlong and three sisters, Mrs. M.J. Mulline, Mrs. William Cochrane and Mrs. H.M. Brown. Notice of funeral will be given later. ********************************************************************* The funeral of James P. Furlong was held from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 o'clock a.m. yesterday. The service was conducted by Rev. Father R.A. Drake, during which Mrs. James Hughes rendered "Lead Kindly Light" and "Nearer My God to Thee." There was a lovely display of floral tributes. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pallbearers: John Sweeney, William Heatherton, George Heatherton, Michael Green, Harry Green, Willie Walsh, James Shaffner and S. Whitmore.
