Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark February 25, 1926

Mrs. Jane A. Furlong, aged 69, widow of James P. Furlong, died at 3 o'clock 
Wednesday morning at a local hospital. She was a native of St. Johns, New 
Brunswick, and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 40 years. At the time 
of her death she resided at Willoughby Beach. Surviving her are three daughters, 
Mrs. M. Mullins, of Norfolk; Mrs. W.B. Cochrane, of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. 
H.M. Brown, of Huntington, W. Va. and nine grandchildren. The body will be taken 
from the residence of her brother-in-law, George M. Heppel, 265 Fortieth Street, 
(Riverview), to Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, for funeral services 
tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Jane A. Furlong — Funeral services for Mrs. Furlong were held at 10 o'clock 
yesterday morning at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View. The Rev. R. B. 
Kealey was celebrant of the mass, the Rev. J. P. Ewing, deacon; the Rev. P. C. 
Blackburn, subdeacon, and the Rev. A. J. Taylor, master of ceremonies. The Rev. 
E. A. Brosnan was present. During the service, a duet, "Raise Me Jesus,” was 
sung by Mrs. A. A. Price and Mrs. James A. Harrell, with Mrs. J. H. McWilliams 
as accompanist. Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
The pallbearers were John Crowley, of Newport News, P. V Marois, J. R. Gilmore, 
L. S. Snowden, John E. Burke, Thomas Ralston, T. M. Cashin and T. S. 
Fitzgibbons.
