Norfolk - Final rites were held in First Baptist Church, Logan Park by the 
Rev. Boyd O. Moody with interment in Calvary Cemetery for Mrs. Bettie F. 
Gaines recently.

She was a resident of 7488 Diven street and died in DePaul Hospital at the 
age of 47.  Jones Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She was a native of King and Queen County, and the daughter of Samuel Parker 
and Mrs. Flossie Parker and the wife of Robbie F. Gaines.  She was a former 
member of First Baptist, Logan Park.

Besides her husband she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Teresa Reddick, 
of Buffalo, Misses Ollie T. Gaines, Robin T. Gaines and Sarah L. Gaines of 
Norfolk;  one son, Ronald E. Gaines of Norfolk;  one sister, Mrs. Daisy C. 
Lewis of King and Queen county;  seven brothers, Alvin Parker, Patrick, and 
Coleman Parker of Philadelphia, Samuel Parker of Woodstown, NJ, Wilson 
Parker of Baltimore, Thomas Parker of New York and Warren Parker of 
Westmoreland, VA;  and four grandchildren.
