Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, May 2, 2001 
NORFOLK - Herman O. Gainey Sr. of the 900 block of Lexington St. died April 28,
2001.

Born in Fayetteville, N.C., Mr. Gainey was a retired landscaper of Hampton
Courts and a member of Enoch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Evelma Gainey; two daughters, Sheila Ford and Luella
Case, both of Norfolk; five sons, Kenneth Ford, Herman Gainey Jr., Russell
Gainey, Terry Gainey, all of Norfolk, and Ronald Ford of Virginia Beach; 17
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Friday at Enoch Baptist Church by the Rev.
Micheal Daniels. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is in
charge of arrangements.
