Norfolk Ledger-Dispatch October 21, 1912
The funeral of Ashland C. Gale, a former well-known and esteemed resident of 
Norfolk, whose demise occurred at his home, Rose Hill, Va., Saturday, was held at 
the grave in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk yesterday at 11:30 o'clock. The service 
was conducted by Rev. Thomas A. Smoot, D.D., of Epworth M. E. Church. The floral 
tributes were numerous and beautiful.
The following were the pallbearers: Ira T. Holt, E. F. Jakeman, Pay Director, W. 
W. Galt, U.S.N., R. S. Broughton, John P. Keville, R. D. Ames.
