Dispatch January 4, 1947
Mrs. Mary Virginia Henley Gale, widow of John Gale, died at the residence of her 
niece, Mrs. William F. Crockett, Virginia Beach, today at 6 a.m., after an 
illness of one week.
She was a native of Norfolk and resided at 225 Thirty-sixth Street. She was a 
daughter of the late David and Mrs. Annie Butt Henley. Mrs. Gale was a member of 
Park Place Methodist Church.
In addition to her niece, she is survived by three nephews, T. Barry Henley, 
Clyde W. Henley and Kenneth P. Henley, all of Norfolk, one great-niece and one 
great-nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home, 631 Westover Avenue, 
Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. R. O. Bryant, D.D., pastor of Park Place Methodist 
Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
