Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 19, 1943

William Augustus Gallagher, aged 78 years, son of the late Martin and Mrs. 
Catherine Stoeffel Gallagher, a native of Portsmouth, and a lifelong resident of 
this section, died at 1:05 o'clock yesterday morning at a local hospital. 
Surviving him are three daughters, Mrs. E.P. Forbes, of Norfolk; Mrs. M.M. 
MacNeill, of Spring Lake, Mich. and Mrs. H. Hubbard, of Norfolk; two sons, M.E. 
and W.P. Gallagher, of Norfolk, and several grandchildren. The body will be 
taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary 
services will be held at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, tonight at 8 
o'clock.

William Augustus Gallagher - Funeral services for Mr. Gallagher, who died 
Saturday morning at a local hospital, were held at 10 o’clock yesterday morning 
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. E. C. Kiefer officiating. Interment 
was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were J. G. Madden, C. E. Austin, A. 
W. Seeley, Jr., E. L. Emmitt, George B. MacCubbin and George B. Walsh.
