Joseph Frioli Gallalee Sr., 93, of 304 Rockbridge Road, a veteran of World Wars I and II, died Wednesday at 7:50 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. He served in the Navy for 38 years and retired in 1946. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Mary Ryan Gallalee. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James P. Kirsch of Portsmouth and Mrs. E. Taylor Katherman of Clearwater, Fla.; two sons, Vincent R. Gallalee of Norfolk and Martin B. Gallalee of Wheaton, Md.; a sister, Miss Genevieve Gallalee of Portsmouth; a brother, Roger M. Gallalee of Norfolk; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. A Christian Wake service will be held tonight at 7:30 in Foster Funeral Home, where the family will be tonight from 7 to 9. A Joyful Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Robert F. Walsh. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Norfolk.
