The Virginian-Pilot, Sunday, August 9, 1959

NORFOLK - Mrs. Elizabeth Gallop, wife of Samuel A. Gallop Sr. of 1510 W. 46th 
St., died Friday at 12:35 p.m. at her residence after short illness.

She was the daughter of Mrs. Emma Johnson and the late Harberry Johnson Sr., a 
native of Hertford, N.C. She had lived in Norfolk most of her life.

She was a member of the Margaret Frances Chapter 101, Order of Eastern Star, and 
the Mother Church of God in Christ on Goff street.

Surviving, besides her mother and husband, are two sons, Samuel A. Gallop Jr. 
and Phillip G. Gallop, both of Norfolk, and one brother, Harberry Johnson Jr. of 
New York City.

The body was taken to the Hale Funeral Home.
